Professor Chi-hsiu Daniel Weng, the Founding President of World Cardio Tai-chi Association and Pam-American Shuai-chaio Federation was an assistant to the late Grand Master of Shuai-chiao, Chang Tung-sheng, at Central Police University in Taiwan in 1970’s. He received his PhD in Movement Arts from the Ohio State University 1987 and was then appointed as the Chairman of Division of Chinese Martial Arts at Chinese Culture University. Dr.Weng came to San Jose State University as a Visiting Professor and has been teaching Tai-chi, Shuai-chiao and Self Defense Courses since 1991. He recently won a prestigious Prize in Chinese Martial Arts: the 2010 16th Global Hsin-chuan Chinese Culture and Arts Prize, and was also awarded by President of Taiwan, ROC Dr. Ma Ying-jeou for his accomplishment.
Dr.Weng compiled the Belt Ranking System of Shuia-chiao with Grand Master Chang in Ohio 1983. This work provided a standard teaching and learning content for Shuai-chiao practitioners. He later invented Cardio Tai-chi to combine the benefits of wellness, fitness, self defense, healing and recreation in 2001(www.huntertextbooks.com). Currently he is the Dean of College ofTai Chi at University of East-West Medicine in Sunnyvale California where he stared a first graduate program of Master of TaiChi Degree (www.uewm.edu).
