Jinheng Li began martial arts training at age 11. He was selected to attend the prestigious Beijing Sports School, along with his friend, Jet Li. At this boarding school students focused on academic subjects and also trained several hours daily, 6 days a week, with the best martial arts masters in China. Jinheng Li learned many traditional weapons, as well as hand forms in Northern Shaolin Long Fist, Southern Style Boxing, Hung Gar, Nan Quan, Baji, Bagua, Chen and Yang Styles of Tai Chi, Xingyi, Tong Bei, and more. He was a Senior Beijing Wushu Team Member. He is internationally known for his rope dart skill. In 1984 he founded the World Martial Arts Academy in Phoenix, Arizona, with the goal of promoting Wushu as a contemporary Chinese sport and a way of life to improve health, wellness, and fitness.
