Juan Carlos Proano

Master, 2021

Juan Carlos Proano has trained in martial arts for 40 years beginning with Karate. After realizing the difference between Karate and Wushu, he chose to dedicate his career to Chinese martial arts. He credits his many coaches with helping him develop his Wushu skills and teaching him to live a life of strong character. He currently trains under Sifu Shi Yanqing. Sifu Proano established the American Wushu Academy in 2012. He is a certified personal trainer, national certified Sanda judge, Wushu medalist at multiple international tournaments, and a member of the Arizona Shaolin Cultural Center. He lives in Mesa, Arizona, with his wife and three children.
