Tony Yang

Shu-Ton (Tony) Yang is from Taiwan and has been studying martial arts for more than 50 years, specializing in Baji, Praying Mantis, Tai Chi, Xingyi, and Bagua. He began studying at age 6, learning Northern Shaolin and 3-sectional staff. During high school he also studied Praying Mantis. Later he became a student of Grandmaster Su Yu-Chang, who introduced him to Grandmaster Liu Yun Chiao. During this time, he practiced Tai Chi, Baji, Mantis, and several weapons. At age 24, he began teaching Praying Mantis and Tai Chi at various colleges. He also taught Tai Chi and sword to elderly students at a mountain temple and taught the famed Chinese Acrobats of Taiwan. In 1980 he settled in Canton, Ohio and opened the Wu Tang Center for Martial Arts, specializing in Praying Mantis and Baji. The Bagua weapon, Deerhorn Knives (Lu Jiao Dao, or Zi Wu Yuan Yang Yue), is his foremost weapon. He now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
