2011 Report: September 2-3, 2011
Another Great Start!!!!

Dear Friends,
The Inaugural "Windy City" Chinese Martial Arts Championship, which was held on September 3, 2011 in Wheeling, IL, a suburb of Chicago, got off to a great start. Nearly 250 competitors attended the event from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Missouri, Minnesota and from as far away as Texas, Florida, Nevada and California; we even had a competitor join us from Norway. Participation from competitors from so far away demonstrates that the ICMAC Worldwide Circuit is making an impact and bodes well for future championships.

Take a look at these happy young competitors showing off their medals!

Opening Ceremonies!!!
For this inaugural occasion we were happy to introduce the Chris Canning Foundation International Awards Program into the ICMAC Worldwide Circuit. Mr. Art Canning, President of the Foundation, established this program in tribute and memory of his son, Christopher Canning, who died an accidental death in June of 2001. Chris was an honor student, a classical pianist, an outstanding athlete for his school, community servant, and accomplished martial artist. This year's award winner was Ron Berle. We look forward to continuing this partnership and to honor Chris Canning's memory and achievements in life!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Master Xiaofei Dong and Nick Scrima
